Dallas grew fast, from 5,056 people in 2000 to 14,042 in 2020, by the Census count. About 43 percent of its homes went up from 2000 to 2009. Many of those original driveways are now 17 to 26 years old. On a hilly lot, an old drive can sink at the edges or break up where water runs across it.
Pro One Concrete is a concrete contractor serving Dallas, which is part of our service area north of Villa Rica. Here we pour new concrete driveways and replace worn ones with a full tear out and re-pour. We also pour garage and shop slabs and build block foundations for homes and businesses. Call or text (770) 880-4224, and we look at the job and put the quote in writing.

Paulding County went from 81,678 people in 2000 to 168,661 in 2020. Dallas nearly tripled over the same years. Census survey estimates say about three of every four homes in the city were built in 1990 or later. About one in ten dates from before 1960.
About 63 percent of the homes in Dallas are detached single-family houses. Across Paulding County, the share is about 89 percent. Building has kept going: the Census counted 165 new single-family homes permitted in the city in 2025. Unincorporated Paulding County permitted 1,125 more.
When an old drive has sunk or broken up in many places, driveway replacement is the fix. We tear out the old concrete and re-pour on freshly graded ground. Grading counts here: Paulding County says a typical new lot can shed over 70,000 gallons of runoff a year. A replacement is also a good time to widen the drive or add a parking pad.
Ray Mountain and Elsberry Mountain rise just east of downtown. The USDA soil survey maps about half the land around downtown on slopes of 10 percent or steeper. The two most common soils there are Wateree and Rion, both sandy loams. The survey rates them low for shrink and swell.
Rock sits close to the surface in much of that ground. Wateree is rated moderately deep, which puts soft, weathered rock about 20 to 40 inches down. That rock can turn up in the footing trench for a block foundation or in the cut for a slab. We look at the lot before we put the quote in writing.
Low ground brings a different question. Pumpkinvine Creek and Weaver Creek both have mapped flood zones near town on FEMA's maps for Paulding County. The soil survey marks the bottomland along creeks like these as occasionally flooded. Before you plan a slab near a creek, look the lot up on FEMA's Flood Map Service Center.
In Georgia, each city or county sets which concrete work needs a permit. Inside city limits, that office is the City of Dallas Community Development Department. Its inspections page says permitted work is inspected before footings or concrete slabs are poured.
Most people with a Dallas mailing address live outside city limits. The 2020 Census counted about 97,300 people in the 30132 and 30157 ZIP areas, but only 14,042 inside the city. For an address outside the city, ask Paulding County's Building and Permitting Division. To check, the city points to the tax district listed on the county tax assessor's site.
For a new house or addition in the city, the permit calls for a lot survey. It must show any proposed driveways and patios, plus flood plain boundaries and water courses. Whatever the address, Georgia 811 asks for a dig ticket at least three business days before the dig.
Our service area reaches about 50 miles around Villa Rica, and Dallas sits well inside it. GA 61 links the two towns, and near Dallas it is called Villa Rica Highway. US 278 runs along the south side of town as Jimmy Campbell Parkway, then east to Hiram. GA 120 heads east toward Marietta.
Homes are only part of the work we take on. For a business in or around town, our commercial concrete work covers pads, small lots, approaches and dumpster pads. At home, a full-size concrete patio or a patio extension can be poured together with a new slab or drive.
