These are common questions about concrete driveways, slabs and
foundations across west metro Atlanta. If yours is not here, call or
text and we will answer it.
A concrete contractor gets the ground ready and sets the forms, then pours and finishes the concrete. For homes, our work covers driveways, house and garage slabs, block foundations and full-size patios. We also take on commercial concrete for businesses, such as pads and drives.
Can you tear out and replace an old driveway?
Yes. Driveway replacement is a tear out and re-pour, with the ground graded before the new concrete goes in. It is a good time to widen the drive or add a parking pad, within the town's rules. In Villa Rica, the city's subdivision guidelines cap a drive at 20 feet wide at the property line.
What kinds of concrete slabs do you pour?
We pour house slabs for new homes and additions, plus garage slabs. Shop and pole barn slabs are part of the work, along with carport pads. What a slab has to carry sets its thickness and the base under it.
What is a block foundation?
A block foundation is a wall of concrete block set on poured concrete footings. The wall can hold a house up over a crawl space, or ring a slab as a stem wall. We build block foundations for new homes, additions, garages and shops.
What area do you serve?
We work about 50 miles around Villa Rica. The city sits just off I-20 and straddles the Carroll County and Douglas County line. Our area reaches into Paulding, Cobb, Coweta and Fulton Counties as well. The towns in our service area run from Carrollton and Newnan to Marietta and Atlanta.
How does pricing work?
We price each job after we look at it. Size and thickness drive the price of a driveway or slab, and tear-out or grading adds to it. On a block foundation, the length and height of the walls count most. Call or text (770) 880-4224, and the quote comes to you in writing.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Pro One Concrete is licensed and insured. Ask us about it on the phone or when we come out to look at the job.
How long before I can drive on new concrete?
Ready-mix industry guidance says curing typically runs 3 to 7 days. Concrete gains strength faster in warm weather and slower in cool weather. We tell you the day your new driveway can take a car.
Do I need a permit for a concrete slab or foundation?
Often, yes, and in Georgia each city or county decides which work needs one. Villa Rica requires a permit for all new structural work, detached garages and shops included. The city's required house inspections include the footing and the slab. For other towns, we point you to the right permit office before the job starts.
